Wimbledon 2012
The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club
Monday 25th June – Sunday 8th July 2012
WIMBLEDON PARK GOLF CLUB – LAKEVIEW RESTAURANT

Wimbledon, which started out as a simple garden party tournament in 1877, has grown to become one of the world’s favourite sporting events.
The world’s oldest major tennis championship, fought out for two weeks between late June and early July at south London’s All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, is the third Grand Slam tournament of the year and the only one still played on grass.
In 2009 Wimbledon unveiled a revamped Centre Court, with a new retractable roof over the court (thus avoiding rain delays)
The men’s champion in 2011 was Novak Djokovic, whose winning streak was confirmed when he took the title from Rafael Nadal, 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3.
There was a new Ladies champion, Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic, who beat a resurgent Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-4.
Andy Murray, who played well throughout the tournament, once again succumbed to Nadal in the semi-finals, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4. British tennis enthusiasts will have to wait another year before he can once again make an attempt on that elusive, much-cherished, title.
Last year a total of 28.0000 kg of strawberries and 200,000 glasses of Pimms’ were consumed over the fortnight, and 52,000 Slazenger balls were used during the tournament.
Tennis fans will relish the chance to witness, at close quarters, the awesome power and speed of tennis legends, such as Federer, Nadal, Murray and the Williams sisters. Every tournament has its surprises and individual dramas;
With fabulous views across to Centre Court the Wimbledon Park Golf Club provides an idyllic location in which to enjoy sumptuous hospitality at this premium event. With upgrades over the past few years costing in excess of £200,000 the Club House is a spectacular hospitality venue.
